#9: Odds & Ends
The past couple weeks, I have been doing a little bit of work on a few different projects. This update will be short and give some quick details about the projects.
Commencement dates:
I have been in contact with several SMEs about getting these dates finalized and put on the Academic Calendar. I also formatted the information into how it might appear on the calendar; this involved me practicing my HTML skills. It was cool to put those skills to use in a way that will make an impact.
This project is finally coming to a close. I’m just waiting on the approval of some people, and then it can be implemented!
Form update work:
I’ve been in contact with some SMEs for this work as well. This project is on pause for a moment while I wait for their responses. Not too much to report regarding this project as of right now.
ASR site dates standardization:
I just recently started working on this project. I am looking through the dates listed on the Academic Support Resources (ASR) website and writing category names and descriptions for each of them. I am also going to standardize them into a common format, and they may eventually appear in calendar form not unlike the One Stop Academic Calendar.
I’m exercising my skills as a technical writer here by making sure I get all the information in the descriptions while also being concise. So far it’s been easy enough, but I’m prepared for it to get more difficult once I encounter dates for very specific events.
Hopefully my next update will give some more clarity to these projects, as they’re all in a waiting phase right now.
