dog depot mn prototype
Figma prototype:
1: A Figma app prototype for a small dog shelter, Dog Depot MN assists users in volunteering at, donating to, and adopting from the shelter. This prototype is comprehensive and includes working buttons, forms, and links as well as complete articles and pet profiles.
2: Using my knowledge of content strategy from my internship, I prioritized the main 3 actions on the front page of the app to help the users complete their goals as quickly as possible.
3: I further used my strong audience analysis skills to write friendly, welcoming copy on all of the pages that was also utilizing plain language.
4: When designing the pages, I used my experience in UX to create a layout that is not overwhelming to users, prioritizes goal completion, and reduces the amount of recall that is required. For example, the icons on the navigation bar change color based on which section a user is in. Each subpage also has a back button for easy navigation.

I also went through an extensive revision process when creating this prototype. Take a look at some of my lo-fidelity mockups:
Creating this prototype was a great way for me to put all of my UX, content strategy, and writing skills to the test. Thinking of the idea, getting inspiration from other shelter apps (but figuring out how to set mine apart), learning a new technology, and revising until I was proud of the finished product took lots of time and effort. But, all of that time and effort paid off, and I had fun from start to end.
Fun fact: all of the dogs are ones I have either owned, volunteered with, or worked with!
